The Fairy Tale Cookbook: Fun Recipes for Families to Create and Eat Together

Sandré Moore
The Fairy Tale Cookbook is a collection of clever and tasty recipes for families to enjoy together. The author first got the idea for the book after she had developed many of these menus and recipes for her own family in an effort to provide fun times together for her children — in the kitchen instead of in front of the television.
All the foods and menus in The Fairy Tale Cookbook were generated from thinking about characters or stories in fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and children's literature. While many of the recipes are original creations, in some cases the author uses convenience foods so that busy families might be able to spend some "hassle free" time together in the kitchen — the heart of the home — preparing food, playing games, talking about life, and getting to know one another better.
The fun menus and recipes in The Fairy Tale Cookbook are organized in five sections: Beautiful, Bountiful Breakfasts; Lovable Lunches and Hilarious High Tea; Delicious Dinners; Smacky Snacks; and Sweets for the Sweetest. Recipes and menus include:
- King Babar's French Toast with Peanut Butter and Honey Topping Fit for an Elephant
- Die-Hard Dr. Seuss Fan's Green Eggs — Hold the Ham
- Heidi's Handkerchief Lunch
- Bilbo Baggins' Eleventy-First (111st) Birthday Dinner
- Brer Rabbit's Country New Years Eve Supper
- The Who-Ville Christmas Feast
- The Big Bad Wolf's Favorite TV Snacks — Pigs in a Blanket
- Sleeping Beauty's Sixteenth Birthday Cake
- The Queen of Heart's Tarts
- Curious George's Banana Milkshake
